I encountered this exciting hot MX-5, resting at its final resting place on a junkyard in Hamburg, in November 2015. The day was cold, rainy and gray, well in contrast to the hot flames put on the side.
In 2015, putting flame stickers on your car was already considered extremely embarrassing. It must have been more than 10 years since that trend went out of fashion. I always wonder what kind of character drives such a car and think it’s okay to put such stickers on it.
When I reached the car, it has already been largely stripped by MX-5 enthusiasts. With the last quarter of the rocker panels eaten away by severe corrosion, the life of this car likely ended due to a failed vehicle inspection.
